LANDSCAPE PAINTING -WEEKEND

£250 per person

Practice the fundamentals of landscape painting on location in the beautiful surroundings of The Cockshut Wetland. Working in the medium of your choice, we will focus on capturing the essence of a landscape using a structured approach to help increase confidence in your work.

You will learn the key elements and techniques required to help you depict your chosen landscape through the development of your drawing skills, compositional choices, working with tonal values, colour and colour temperature. As your painting develops you will receive individual advice through discussion and demonstrations. Alongside the essential aspects of landscape painting, you will also be encouraged to explore your own personal style and response to the land.

We will be working outside at The Cockshut Wetland which is a 10-minute walk from the studio we will use as our base and return to for lunch and use of amenities. In the event of inclement weather, we will gather sketch and photography reference on location and return to work in the studio.

You may choose to work in oils, acrylic, watercolour, pastels, coloured pencils or any other colour medium. You will need to provide all materials you wish to use including drawing materials and paper, paints, brushes, containers with lids for water or paint thinners, ready to use paper or canvas painting surfaces. Lightweight easels, chairs, A2 and A3 drawing boards are provided.

This class is open to all abilities but it is advised that you have a basic understanding of the medium/s you will be using. With a maximum of 6 places available you will receive plenty of input and guidance for your own individual development.
